The Ramayana

INTRODUCTION

The Ramayana is an ancient Indian epic poem written by the 4th c. sage Valmiki originally compromised of 7 books. The story tells about the divine prince Rama and his struggles with the events in his life. The Ramayana was originally titled Kaavyam Ramayanam Kritsnam Sitaayaas Charitham Mahat.

BODY

The story mostly focuses on Rama's life and his exile.Throughout the story Rama marries Sita and is then exiled to the forest. Becuase of the promise his father made to Kaikeyi, So Dasa-Ratha was forced to exile Rama to the forest of Dandak. The forest of Dandak in real life is Dandakaranya. Dandakaranya is located in central-east part of India. It is also called Dandakaranya, aranya being the sanskrit word for "forest". While in Dandak Raksha a princess fell in love with Rama but Rama couldn't betray his wife so he rejected her in scorn. Rama instead offered Lakshman to the passion-blinded Princess Raksha, but Rama heard her wicked purpose and scornful smile repressed. Laskman mocked her and told her to go back to Rama, so an indignant and revengeful Raksha went to his brother for help, Ravan the monster king. Ravan waged war with Rama it ended with Sita being
captured and Rama rescuing her and they both traveled from southern-India to Northern India.

CONCLUSION

My conclusion to the story is that true love can always break the walls of hardships. No matter what happens in the long run you and your partner will be happy if you stick to each other. The story is about love and how you shouldn't let your family or anyone meddle with it.
