Give light
"I want to give light but not like a candle, I don't want to loose myself in the process. Generosity and self preservation should be allowed together"
I agree with this quote. We should help others whenever we can but in the process of helping, we shouldn't forgot who we are, why we are helping, and who we are helping. Other's problems shouldn't be our first priority. Always put oneself ahead of others. But never look down upon others in need.
You can be generous while at the same time self-serving. Never confuse self-serving with selfishness. Coexistence between generosity and self preservation should exist. To help others we must help ourselves first. Be the light that helps others in their problems but never forget your own problems.
A personal experience of mine is with my group of friends. I try to always help them whenever I can but when I am having my own problems, and they can;'t help me. That's where self preservation comes. I won't help others if I myself am in a situation or problem. I give a part of myself to others but I never lose myself.
This quote means that help yourself before you help others. Always make yourself the priority. Look after yourself before you look after others. When you help others, you should commit. But not commit too much that you will lose your sense of identity just for the sake of others. Don't be a tool that is only usable if others are facing problems.
This quote describes itself. It is about generosity and self preservation coexisting together. Give aid to others in need. Give a part of yourself like time to those who are in need of a guiding light. But never should you become solely the light, never lose who you are.
This quote speaks to me in a deeper sense. I keep on trying to help others but I always question myself "Who will help me". This quote gave me the realization that I should be capable of being self preserving. I should be able to stand by myself without others. Once I am able to stand by myself, then I can help others to stand for themselves if they are unable to.
